Gabions

Gabions are a versatile, durable and ecological solution for earth and water construction, landscaping, and architectural projects. We offer a wide range of standard products as well as customised solutions tailored to the needs of the client’s project.

Gabions are used to prevent soil erosion and to build sturdy and visually appealing structures. Gabions are filled with stones, gravel, or other materials according to the project’s specifications.

Tammet’s gabions are long-lasting, easily adaptable, and require minimal maintenance. Their applications include noise barriers, gabion walls, slope stabilisation, water construction, landscaping, as well as fencing and boundary structures.

We also manufacture gabions as customised solutions, where mesh sizes, wire thicknesses, and dimensions are designed according to the client’s needs. We deliver gabions pre-assembled, which speeds up installation and filling. In addition, we offer rental of special tools designed for the smooth installation of gabions.

The hot-dip galvanising of gabions is done in accordance with the EN ISO 1461 standard. For more demanding conditions, we also offer hot-dip galvanising options in Fe/Zn 115 or Fe/Zn 165 classes.

Gabions are suitable for coastal and water construction are made from stainless (EN 1.4301 / AISI 304) or acid-resistant (EN 1.4401 / AISI 316) steel wire, ensuring excellent service life even in challenging conditions.

For marine environments, we also provide the electropolishing and passivation of stainless and acid-resistant gabions in accordance with the EN 10223-8 standard.
