Environment

Tammet operates responsibly and safeguards against environmental impacts in the unique Tammisaari groundwater and nature conservation area. We continuously develop our processes to keep emissions, noise, and other environmental burdens as low as possible.

Founded in 1948, our factory is located in an exceptionally valuable Finnish national landscape – amidst settlements, forests, and rare park forests. We have been located for decades in an important groundwater area, which has required us to exercise special care, making environmental responsibility a central part of all Tammet’s operations.

We use the best air purification technology and continuously monitor emissions to minimise impacts on the environment. Accurate monitoring of environmental impacts covers water and air emissions, noise levels, as well as the amount of waste and recycling rates.

Recycling is an essential part of our production: all the steel we use comes from recycling, and the steel scrap generated in production is collected and melted down again. This way, nearly 100% of the material is reused.

We operate in accordance with our environmental permit and environmental protection laws, and we continuously develop our processes to reduce environmental impacts. Respecting nature, neighbours, and the groundwater area guides our everyday choices.

For Tammet, responsibility are not just promises, but daily practical actions and continuous improvement.
