Rock mesh

Rock mesh effectively protect against falling rocks and blocks and provide a durable, easily adaptable solution for reinforcing rock faces. 

Rock mesh ensure safety in places like tunnels and quarries, where falling rocks and blocks pose a risk. Tammets dynamic rock mesh shapes easily to follow the rock faces and meet the required safety and strength standards. The safety of the products is ensured by testing tensile strength, elongation, and energy absorption, as well as testing the mesh in real-world usage conditions.

The meshes are tested using the customer’s own fastening systems to simulate the effects of rock pressure as realistically as possible. Typically, dynamic mesh is attached with four bolts in a 1 × 1 m configuration, but other configurations are also possible. By testing various types of wire meshes, we find the solution that best meets our customer’s needs. 

As underground conditions vary significantly, the right material choice is a key part of safety and long-lasting protection. Tammet’s rock mesh can be made from low-carbon rock mesh wire and stainless grades such as EN 1.4301 and 1.4401 (AISI 304 and 316). Hot dip galvanized versions are also available. For the most demanding conditions, we also offer specially treated, highly corrosion-resistant material options.
